Koshov is a village in the Central part of Northern Bulgaria. It is part of Ivanovo Municipality, Ruse Region. It is 21 km south of Ruse, 6 km south-east of Ivanovo, 191 km north-east of Varna, 87 km north-west of Veliko Tarnovo and 281 km in the same direction of Sofia. Regular bus transportation to town of Ruse and village of Ivanovo. The railway station of Ruse-Sofia line is 2 km away of the village. Koshov nestles in the Danube plain, on the left banks of Cherni Lom River, on the territory of Rusenski Lom Natural Park. It is on 89 m above the sea level, in a small valley, naturally protected in north-eastern direction by a rock chain. The climate is humid continental and characterizes with cold winter and hot summer. The population is approximately 340 people. Koshov is provided with water, electricity and communication equipment. There is a town-hall, a post office, a police inspector on duty, a community centre with a library, a church, a doctor and commercial areas. Several guest houses offer accommodation. The nearest education centres are in the municipal centre of Ivanovo. Landmarks and tourism Koshov spreads out the territory on Rusenski Lom Natural Park where could be seen Ivanovo rock churches, Basarbovo Monastery, the medieval town of Cherven, Orlova chuka cave, the monastery complexes of Gramovets and Chipilisko, etc. 'Selishteto' area is at the settlement of the village, on the banks of Cherni Lom River. There is a small island with an old water-mill, turned into a centre for boats stay. The place is convenient for lowering boats - canoe typed. The natural park is with excellent conditions for fishing, rock climbing, mountain extreme bicycling and walks on eco-paths.
